Typical Day

Another day, a different view -- Peter photographing his favorite field at sunset

We put in a good day of work. Dinner out where Lisa works. A drive through some of Peter's favorite countryside as the sun goes down. If it seems like Peter always has a camera up to his face, it's because he does!

Misty Morning

Early morning walk in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

Rainbow

I-84 Bridge over the Delaware

As promised, here's Mondays rainbow. Peter took this photo from the car. It was so magical. We could see the whole arc of the rainbow and it felt like we were driving into the center of it. It kept moving with us until the road finally turned us away. I would love for Peter to do a small painting with a rainbow, but he says that he never will. Maybe some day!

Beautiful Skies

Black Dirt Region, Orange County NY

Double portrait

There were tremendous thunderstorms coming through our area yesterday. Peter had a feeling the storm would break right before sunset and wanted to go out photographing after dinner. We went to a favorite spot, the sky cleared and we had a good hour of magic -- purple clouds and golden trees -- changing every second until the sun went down. We also saw an amazing rainbow over the Delaware on the way there. I'll have to get a photo of it from Peter's files.

Illustration Job

Karaoke all night long

I recently illustrated an article about Karaoke for MSN's CityGuides. Take a look. I've never sung karaoke but this assignment made me contemplate what I might sing if I did. What would you sing?

Inspiration is Everywhere

Peter photographing at "the dangerous intersection"

Peter is constantly looking for new motifs for his paintings. Sometimes he finds inspiration in surprising places. This is a new location for him in Orange County, NY. Visit his blog entry on June 5th, Wet Paint, to see what keeps bringing him back.

L.A.D. No More

Peter resting in the studio

Peter's blog, Landscape a Day, has come to an end. He painted 111 studies in 112 days and completed a number of other larger paintings as well during these last few months. It was a great experience and now he's very happy that it is over. He's moved on to the next stage of creating new paintings for his show at the Travis Gallery this fall and returning to looking and photographing and planning new work.

We have finally launched the prints section on Peter's site, peterfiore.com. There are six prints available, several of which are from award winning paintings. They are quite large and very beautiful. They would make an ideal gift for yourself or someone else!

This photo of Peter in his studio was taken by his friend, Phil Valcarcel.

Wet Dogs Playing

Fiesta and her little bud, Buddy

Peter and I spent Saturday afternoon relaxing lakeside with our friend's Mary and Rob. We both took a ton of photos of Fiesta and Buddy playing, but this one shot by Peter summed it all up perfectly!
