Happy Halloween

Prop Hunting

Poor Winnie is stuck in a junk shop in Matamoras, PA for all of eternity

We spent the day with Lisa searching the local junk shops and antique stores for cool stuff she can use for her junior thesis project. One place we looked had so much stuff in it that the aisles were closing in. She found an old deer skull on top of a stack of board games across the aisle from a passel of Barbie dolls. Jackpot!

Last Light

Peter catches the setting sun on his favorite field

We just discovered that one of Peter's favorite fields is for sale. This spot has inspired many paintings such as Meadow Glow, First Frost, Winter Evening Glow, Lone Pine Winter, Winter Afterglow and Going Home Sunset to name just a few. Oh no, I fear our rural landscape is disappearing quickly. Could another strip mall be in our future?

Peter's New Friends

Posing for Peter (and me)

We headed out after breakfast to catch the morning sunlight on one of Peter's favorite fields and barn. Today, there were a bunch of horses lining the fence. They were very interested in Peter and every time he moved to get a better angle, they would move right along with him, blocking his shot. It was very funny.

Ginko Leaves

Pears on the Ground

These pears don't taste good, but they sure are pretty, especially in the morning light

Peter took this one of me photographing the pretty pears

Peter Needs a Bigger Studio

Paintings and frames are piling up in the studio

More, more and more

The paintings are piling up as Peter prepares for his show this November. There are also frames, lots and lots of frames. We always joke that all of our money is tied up in frames. Every free space is lined with paintings that are coming in and going out to various galleries. Soon, the studio will be empty and quiet once again. That always makes me sad, but Peter goes right back to work.

Knee Surgery

Dr. Rose initials Peter's right knee before surgery

Peter had knee surgery today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC. Everything went well and hopefully he'll back in the studio in a couple of days. He can't wait!
