Tonight was the the welcome dinner for Peter's painting workshop in Milford, PA. Artists have traveled from near and far and everyone is excited to be here and start painting in the morning. The Waterwheel Cafe did a wonderful job. Thanks Nancie and Darren! I will be posting photos throughout the week.

Last night was the School of Visual Art's Junior Thesis show. Paul's Einstein Project looked amazing -- 360 drawings/paintings. It was a wonderful show, all the students did a great job.

It's been a while since I've posted photos of the dogs. Fiesta is 14 and Camy is 13. They have had their share of health problems but are hanging in. This is their favorite thing to do.

We went to the Single Fare show to see Lisa's little gems. I ask myself, how does she manage so much detail at that size and still maintain her painterly style? I don't know! The gallery was packed and there were so many amazing little paintings. A fun night.

Photographing Light

Beautiful night but no light on Peter's favorite group of trees

20 minutes later, light!

This group of trees near our home has inspired countless paintings from Peter. For him, it is solely a winter motif and most interesting at the end of the day when the trees are lit by the last golden light of the day -- with the exception of "Winter Sunrise" and "Morning Lavender" when he discovered a different kind of light at dawn. Some other paintings inspired by this location are, "Winter Storm Clearing", "Winter Warmth", as well as "Meadow, Late Day December" to name a few.
