Here are a couple of my photos from the walk highlighted in my previous entry. I always carry a camera with me. It forces me to look closely at the world in search of an interesting image. I notice patterns and learn more about what is visually important to me. I almost always find something intriguing.

The Old Barn Door

It's a classic!

While Peter Fiore (forgive me for writing out Peter's name, I'm just trying to check something with Google) was out photographing some of his favorite trees, I fell in love with the geometry and textures of this old barn door along with the "Big Blue Can" and "Acorns Galore" in the last two posts. It is like love when you spot something you think might make a powerful image and then photograph it over and over until you get just the right angle and light for the perfect composition.

Missing the light

We walked out to one of Peter's favorite trees today to photograph it in the last light of the day. We missed the golden light he was looking for by just a couple of minutes. It was disappointing but still beautiful. We'll go back tomorrow -- much earlier!

Sunrise Fizzle

We had such fantastic light the day before, we decided to get up early to see if we could catch the sunrise lighting up a different set of barns at the Marie Zimmerman Estate. The sky was clear before we went to bed, but unfortunately clouds moved in and foiled our sunrise! No golden light for us but still beautiful and a nice walk -- maybe next time.
